About Us

Welcome to B&N Homegrown Kennels! We are a state licensed and inspected kennel located outside of Osceola, Iowa. We have been raising dog since 2013 and love everything about it! We strive to raise happy and healthy puppies that are well socialized for when they go to their new homes. Our puppies are raised in our home and handled daily by us and our kids. Our breeding dogs are more than just breeding dogs to us. We raise heelers and Corgis.

About Our Puppies

Our puppies are born and raised inside until they are 6 weeks old and then we move them out to our puppy shed. They receive dewormer at the ages of 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. We microchip every puppy we have. At 8 weeks of age, they are taken to the vet for their final health check where they receive a health certificate. We also send home a large puppy pack with every puppy.  Puppy packs include a vet/shot records folder, collar, leash, food, toys, training pads, and a blanket.

We require a signed contract for all puppies going to new homes. The contract refers to our spay and neuter policies, health guarantees and rehoming procedures. We make sure all buyers know they must contact us first if for any reason their dog/puppy does not work out in their new home. We will take them back (no matter their age) to keep them from bouncing back and forth from homes or ending up in shelters.

About Our Dogs

Most of our time is spent around our dogs. Our females aren't bred until they are 2 years old. We health test our dogs to make sure they are clear of any genetic diseases. We have an annual inspection from our vet to ensure our dogs are kept in clean kennels, have clean water, ample food and to give our adults their shots.

We have AKC blue and red Australian cattle dogs (aka heelers). Heelers are not for everyone as they are a very high energy breed. They need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to help keep them out of trouble. We have, however, placed a few in town homes with people who know and have done their research about the breed. They are very loyal and protective dogs to their humans and can sometimes be a one human dog. Our heelers are tested for DM, PRA-PRCD and PLL. Our adults weigh anywhere from 40-50 pounds.

We also have AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgis and CKC American Corgis (a mix between Pembroke corgis and Cardigan corgis). We have black tri bluies, black tris, red headed tris, sable and white, bluie sable and whites and blue merle puppies. Corgis are also in the herding breed group, so they also need a lot of exercise to help with their energy levels. Our corgis are tested for DM, VWD1 and EIC. Our adult's range between 20-30 pounds.
